The objective of the nonprofit organization, Africans Outside Africa (AOA), is to document, preserve, and disseminate information about the priceless contributions of Africans living outside Africa, to the culture and society of the world at large. AOA aims to provide a comprehensive and inclusive information platform that enables individuals to explore the accomplishments of Africans living outside their country of origin, and to facilitate access to their knowledge and expertise.

The creation of AOA was spurred by the dearth of documentation and conservation of the achievements of Africans residing outside the continent of Africa. Prior to its inception, there was no known record of such information. This repository can be utilized for educational purposes, expat recruitment, and public service initiatives on a global scale.
